Roasted Peppers with Tonnato Sauce
Description
An exquisite appetizer of roasted peppers under a delicate creamy tuna sauce with capers
- Preheat the oven to 200°C. Brush the peppers with vegetable oil and roast for 20-25 minutes until soft and slightly charred.
- While the peppers are roasting, prepare the sauce: place tuna, mayonnaise, cream, peeled garlic and capers into a blender bowl.
- Blend the sauce until smooth and creamy. Add a little tuna liquid if needed.
- Cut the red onion into thin half-rings and soak in cold water for 5 minutes to remove excess bitterness.
- Take the roasted peppers out of the oven, let them cool slightly, peel off the skin and cut into strips.
- Arrange the pepper strips on a plate, drizzle with tonnato sauce and sprinkle with marinated onion.
- Serve the appetizer slightly chilled or at room temperature.
