Healthy Chicken Pelmeni with Whole Grain Flour
Description
Homemade pelmeni made from whole grain flour with a tender chicken breast filling. Steamed, making them lighter and healthier compared to traditional boiled pelmeni.
- For dough: mix whole wheat flour with a pinch of salt. Make a well in the center, add egg and water.
- Knead stiff, elastic dough. Wrap in plastic and let rest for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- For filling: cut chicken fillet, onion and garlic into pieces for easy grinding.
- Grind chicken, onion and garlic in a blender or through a meat grinder until minced. Add salt and pehealthyer, mix thoroughly.
- Roll out dough into a thin sheet (about 2 mm). Use a glass or cutter to cut out circles.
- Place a small amount of filling (about 1 tsp) on each circle. Form pelmeni, sealing edges tightly.
- Place pelmeni in a steamer or multicooker rack at a small distance apart to prevent sticking.
- Steam for 20-25 minutes. Add a bay leaf to the water for steam for aroma.
- Serve hot pelmeni with low-fat sour cream (10%) or yogurt.
