Flounder in Sweet and Sour Sauce
Description
Tender flounder fillet in a fragrant homemade sauce based on tomato paste, orange juice and ginger. A light, dietary and very tasty dish.
- Pat the flounder fillet dry with a paper towel and season on both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Fry the fish for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Transfer to a plate.
- Finely chop the garlic, peel and finely grate the ginger.
- In a small bowl, mix the orange juice, tomato paste, soy sauce and honey until smooth.
- In the same pan where the fish was fried, add the ginger and garlic. Sauté for 30-40 seconds until fragrant, stirring constantly.
- Pour the orange-tomato mixture into the pan. Stir and bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer the sauce for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Gently return the flounder to the pan with the sauce. Spoon the sauce over the fish and heat everything together for 1-2 minutes.
- Place the finished dish on a serving plate, pouring the sauce generously over it. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
