Description

Hearty and savory salad with herring, egg and crispy croutons.

  1. Hard-boil the egg (8-9 minutes after boiling), cool and cut into wedges or slices.
  2. Dice the Darnitsky bread slice and fry in a pan with 15 ml of sunflower oil until golden croutons.
  3. Thinly slice the red onion into half rings. Cover with table vinegar and leave for 5 minutes, then drain.
  4. Cut the herring fillet into strips about 2 cm wide.
  5. Make the dressing: mix the remaining 20 ml of sunflower oil, balsamic vinegar, whole grain mustard, liquid honey, salt and pepper. Whisk with a fork until emulsified.
  6. Place the salad mix on a plate.
  7. Arrange herring pieces, pickled onion and egg on top of the salad.
  8. Drizzle with dressing and sprinkle with crispy croutons.
