Description

Juicy chicken fillet stuffed with ham and cheese in a crispy breading.

  1. Cut the chicken fillet in half lengthwise, but not all the way through, open it like a book. Lightly pound through plastic wrap to an even thickness. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheddar cheese on one half of the fillet.
  3. Cover with the second half of the fillet, forming a pocket. You can slightly secure the edges with toothpicks.
  4. Grind the white bread into crumbs (in a blender or on a grater).
  5. Prepare three plates: one with flour, one with beaten egg, and one with bread crumbs.
  6. Dredge the chicken pocket first in flour, then dip in egg, and thoroughly coat in bread crumbs.
  7. Heat sunflower oil in a frying pan. Fry the Cordon Bleu over medium heat on both sides until golden brown (about 5-7 minutes per side).
  8. Reduce heat to low, cover the pan with a lid and cook for another 7-10 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked. Serve hot.
