Description

A light yet satisfying burger made with canned tuna in its own juice. Fresh cucumber and a tangy sauce add juiciness and a summery feel to the dish.

  1. Drain the liquid from the tuna can and mash the fish with a fork in a bowl.
  2. Finely chop the red onion and dill. Coarsely grate the cucumber and gently squeeze out excess moisture.
  3. Mix the tuna, egg, half of the onion, dill, salt, and pepper. Shape into a round patty.
  4. Fry the patty in a pan with a drop of olive oil for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden.
  5. Cut and lightly toast the bun. Mix the remaining cucumber with the remaining onion, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt — this will replace the sauce.
  6. Layer the lettuce leaves, the fish patty, and the cucumber relish on the bottom half of the bun.
  7. Cover with the top half and serve.
