Description

A healthy meatless burger with a spiced chickpea patty. Rich in plant protein and fiber, it provides excellent satiety and gastronomic pleasure.

  1. Soak the chickpeas overnight (8–10 hours) in cold water. Then boil until tender, about 60 minutes, and drain.
  2. In a blender, combine the cooked chickpeas, chopped onion, garlic, cumin, paprika, cilantro leaves, and salt. Pulse until uniform but not puréed.
  3. With wet hands, shape the chickpea mixture into a flat patty about 2 cm thick.
  4. Fry the patty in a pan with olive oil for 4–5 minutes on each side until crispy.
  5. Cut and toast the bun. Mash the avocado with a fork. Slice the tomato into rounds.
  6. Spread the mashed avocado on the bottom half of the bun, layer the lettuce leaves, the hot chickpea patty, and tomato rounds.
  7. Cover with the top half and serve.
