Description

Hearty dish of eggs wrapped in a meat shell with crispy breading, deep-fried, served with creamy mashed potatoes and sour cream sauce.

  1. Boil 1 egg hard-boiled (8-9 minutes), cool and peel.
  2. Peel potatoes, cut into cubes and boil in salted water until tender.
  3. Finely chop the onion and dill, press the garlic.
  4. Mix ground pork with onion, garlic, salt and pepper.
  5. Wrap the peeled egg with a layer of minced meat, forming a tight ball or patty.
  6. Dredge the blank in flour, then in the beaten remaining egg and in breadcrumbs.
  7. Heat sunflower oil in a small saucepan or sauté pan to 170-180°C.
  8. Fry the egg in deep fryer for 5-7 minutes until golden brown, then place on a paper towel.
  9. Drain the potatoes, mash them, add sour cream, salt and dill, mix into a puree.
  10. Serve the Scotch egg with mashed potatoes.
