Description

Hearty wheat pilaf with chicken legs, chili pepper and raisins.

  1. Rinse and dry chicken legs, cut into pieces if needed.
  2. Heat oil in a saucepan or cauldron and fry the legs until golden brown on all sides.
  3. Slice the onion into half rings and carrot into strips. Add to the chicken and fry for 5-7 minutes until soft.
  4. Add pilaf seasoning, cumin and a pinch of salt. Stir.
  5. Rinse millet groats in cold water and drain.
  6. Place the groats on top of the chicken and vegetables, level the surface.
  7. Insert half a garlic head (peeled from outer skin) in the center.
  8. Add raisins and whole or sliced chili pepper.
  9. Pour hot water so it covers the groats by about 1 cm.
  10. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 30-35 minutes until the groats absorb all the liquid.
  11. Remove from heat and let rest covered for another 10 minutes. Stir before serving.
